Freshly Milled Flour – Storage, Shelf Life & Use
Our flour is milled fresh in-house from locally sourced, organic grains. Because it contains the full grain—including the natural oils in the germ—it is more nutritious and flavorful than commercially milled flour, but also more delicate.
Storage:
For best quality, store flour in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. For longer storage, refrigeration or freezing is recommended.
Shelf Life:
At room temperature: up to 1 month
Refrigerated: up to 3 months
Frozen: up to 6 months
How to Use:
Freshly milled flour absorbs more liquid and has a richer flavor. Start by slightly increasing hydration in your recipes and allow doughs to rest for better gluten development. Ideal for bread, pastries, pancakes, and all-purpose baking.
